Golf

"This course lets golfers enjoy the vistas and valleys of the Texas Hills Country. On the back side, holes are carved along streams and creeks to deepen the peace and natural beauty of the land." - Don January and Billy Martindale

Built in the hills of Northwest Austin in 1973, PGA legend Don January and architect Billy Martindale designed Great Hills Country Club to be challenging, scenic and fun. The front nine is open, winding along ridges that offer breath-taking vistas, but challenging you with winds that make many of the holes play differently depending on the conditions. The back nine is where the fun really starts at Great Hills CC – a place where a wayward shot or painfully poor iron can humble your round. There are four par fives and five par threes to challenge you. The signature 17th is a beautiful little par three with white sand bunkers. The 18th is a sporty par five that should be played at least once in the late afternoon when long shadows stretch deep over the fairway. The course requires power, precision and most of all your attention, lest you become mesmerized by the natural surroundings, beauty and wildlife.

For instruction, in-house club repair, club fittings, equipment or fashion off the course, the pro shop offers the finest with PGA certified professionals that consistently rank among the best in the state. Contact us for more details about this amazing program.

Adult Programs

Men's Golf Association

The MGA conducts 10 fun oriented tournaments per year on Saturday morning. No matter what your handicap or your experience with tournament golf, you will fit in. MGA members range from scratch golfers to 30 handicappers. We usually play two or three low-ball per team formats where each player plays his own ball, but occasionally we play some different games such as 2-flag, or scramble.

Women's Golf Association

The purpose of the WGA is to promote good fellowship among its female members and to stimulate and encourage active participation in golf and golf related activities. We have a very diverse group of people; every age you can imagine, range all over the board on ability, some of us work, some have school age children, and some are retired. There are also lots of opportunities to play in tournaments, team play and city play which allow us to go to other courses and try our skills.

Golf Groups

Members of all skill levels are invited and welcome to play in one or more of our organized, regular scheduled, weekly golf groups. It's a great way to make new friends and enjoy your Great Hills membership.

Junior Programs

The purpose of our Junior Golf Programs is to promote a love for the game of golf to our juniors. We help them improve their golf game, as well as foster new friendships and encourage family time together. We have many activities, including Parent/Child play days and more!
